Together with Local Communities
Nippon Steel has a long history of managing steelworks all over Japan in harmony with local communities. With the objective of contributing to communities where we are based and realizing their sustainable growth along with our business based on good relationships, we are promoting social activities with emphasis on assisting the community’s environmental preservation, sports and cultural activities, and education. As a trusted and responsible member of the community, we have distinctive social contribution program activities. These programs include promoting the creation of “hometown forests” by planting trees and shrubs in communities, the operation of regional sports clubs that increase community spirit, musical activities at Kioi Hall, and by endowing a university donated course (which also contributes to one of our business strategies, “enhancement of our technological superiority.”)
