Nippon Steel Engineering Co., Ltd was set up as the engineering division of Nippon Steel Corporation in 1974 before its spin off and incorporation in July 2006. In October 2012, it changed its trade name to Nippon Steel Corporation and Sumikin Engineering Co., Ltd. due to the merger of Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Metal Industries, Ltd. Then in April 2019, it changed its trade name to NIPPON STEEL ENGINEERING CO., LTD.
