Food containers began with glass bottles and tin cans, and in recent years, the diversification of materials has progressed to include paper, aluminum cans, plastic bottles, and pouches.
Among these, steel cans are a familiar material with a long history, offering excellent strength, cost-efficiency, and recyclability.
However, growing demands for environmental protection and food safety have increased awareness of the environmental impact of traditional painted cans—particularly the substances in the paint and the exhaust gases emitted during the painting process. This has led to a need for materials with superior environmental performance.
Laminated steel sheets were developed to meet these demands at a high level, and their adoption is rapidly expanding.
In addition to developing various functional resin films, our company has broadened the application range of laminated steel sheets (resin-coated steel sheets) by combining them with the high-performance steel sheets and diverse plating types we have developed to date.

Environmentally Friendly Material
- Free from concerning chemical substances such as bisphenols (BPA, BPS, etc.), PFAS, PVC, and mineral oils, offering excellent environmental performance.
- By eliminating the painting process, VOC and CO2 emissions during paint baking can be reduced.
- Waste liquids from cleaning during can manufacturing can be reduced (in the case of DWI).
- Fully recyclable in a closed-loop system (100% recyclable) same as conventional steel containers.

- Omitting the painting process allows for reductions in equipment costs, transportation costs, and work-in-process inventory costs.
- Since it can accommodate a wide range of contents, it enables specification consolidation and reduces the burden of inventory management.
Improved Can Functionality
- The surface is smooth and aesthetically pleasing.
- Excellent formability supports various processes from lid forming to DI forming.
- Offers similar processability to painted materials and superior scratch resistance during lid seaming.
Applicable to Various Containers
- Applicable to many types of containers and components such as lids (END, EOE, peelable), 2-piece and 3-piece cans, lug caps, and aerosol cans.
- Compatible with all can sizes through combinations with highly formable and high-strength materials.
- Special requirements such as high corrosion resistance and high gloss can be met by selecting appropriate plated steel sheets.
