Nippon Steel Corporation
For four days from November 4 to 7, 2024, Nippon Steel Corporation (Nippon Steel) will
participate in the Japan Pavilion at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference
(ADIPEC), an international energy-related exhibition to be held in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United
Arab Emirates in the Middle East. The main title of the Japan Pavilion will be “Technologies to
Achieve Carbon Neutralities.” With Nippon Steel having exhibited at ADIPEC from 2015 to 2019 and in
2021, this event will be the seventh participation after a three-year hiatus.

ADIPEC is one of the world’s largest international energy-related exhibitions, attracting over 2,200
exhibiting companies and about 184,000 attendees (2023 results). It brings together engineering firms,
manufacturers, oil majors, and other energy-related companies not only from the Middle East but also from
              all over the world.

Under the Nippon Steel Carbon Neutral Vision 2050, Nippon Steel is working to achieve carbon neutrality as
its top priority of managerial issues. At the forthcoming exhibition, we will use panel presentations to
highlight its initiatives for realizing this vision. The panel presentations will also cover
“NSCarbolex™”, our collective term for products and solution technologies that
contribute to reducing the overall CO2 emissions from society. “NSCarbolex”
consists of two components: “NSCarbolex Neutral”, green steel to which the reduced amount of
              CO2 emissions from the steel manufacturing process is allocated using the mass balance method;
and “NSCarbolex Solution”, high-functionality products and solution technologies that
contribute to reducing CO2 emissions from society.

In addition, from Nippon Steel’s product lineups, we will exhibit four products from the three
product types—steel sheets, pipes and tubes, and titanium—as examples of products that
contribute to the decarbonization of customers’ manufacturing processes and during the use phase of
products. Many sample products will be on display, and effective methods will be devised so that visitors
can experience the appeal of Nippon Steel’s products firsthand.

As for steel sheets, we will exhibit and introduce “ZAM™ - EX” and
“ZEXEED™.” These are high-corrosion resistant coated steel sheets, and are used for
movable racking systems for solar power generation rapidly expanding in the Middle East which is blessed
with abundant sunlight, realizing the life span prolongation of customers’ products and the reduced
maintenance frequency, and such. We will also exhibit “high-efficiency electrical steel
sheets” that realize the reduction of loss of electrical energy when used in iron cores of motors of
              automobiles and home electrical appliances.

Among pipes and tubes, we will display “high-end OCTG (Oil Country Tubular Goods)” which are
applicable even in the environment with a high concentration of CO2 such as CCS, on which high
expectations are placed as society strives to realize carbon neutrality.

With respect to titanium, we will exhibit and introduce our brand of titanium with aesthetic appearance,
“TranTixxii™,” using extensive exhibits. These titanium products are used for roofs and
walls of buildings thanks to the material’s characteristics such as excellent corrosion resistance,
lightness in weight, high strength, and environmental friendliness, and furthermore, because they have the
ability to embody a wide range of expressions using their rich texture and the combination of color tones,
enabling the elimination of painting processes and the reduction of maintenance frequency.

Nippon Steel is committed to contributing to not only reducing CO2 emissions from our own
manufacturing processes, but also the decarbonization of both society and customers and strengthening our
customers’ international competitiveness through the provision of high-functionality products and
              solution technologies.
