Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. (Nissan) has selected NSCarbolex^TM Neutral^*1, a green steel supplied by the Nippon Steel Corporation (Nippon Steel) for its mass-produced automobiles.
 *1 Green steel represents the environmental value of reducing CO₂ emissions in the steel manufacturing process

Nissan aims to achieve carbon neutrality across its entire product lifecycle, including business operations, by the year 2050. Furthermore, Nissan is working to align its internal factory and product CO₂ emissions with the 1.5℃ scenario by 2030 under the Nissan Green Program (NGP2030). Additionally, through the procurement of low-CO2 and recycled materials and the electrification of logistics, the company seeks to reduce CO₂ emissions through product lifecycles by 30% compared to 2018 levels.

In this context, our NSCarbolex Neutral has been adopted for Nissan’s mass-produced automobiles, contributing to the reduction of CO₂ and other greenhouse gas emissions in the Scope 3 upstream operations.

Both Nissan and Nippon Steel will continue to be dedicated to increasing our efforts towards carbon neutrality.
