Nippon Steel Corporation ("Nippon Steel") is pleased to announce that from
January 2025, we will offer a 30-year service life warranty program for the titanium with aesthetic
appearance “TranTixxii™” and “TranTixxii™-ECO” under certain
conditions, in relation to perforation caused by corrosion in certain materials (standard type and
flatness-oriented type: for building materials with aesthetic appearance) (hereinafter referred to as the
"Service Life Warranty") (*1) (*2) (*3). In addition, the period of warranty against perforation
can be extended up to four times (30 years each time), for a total of up to 150 years if the prescribed
conditions are met.
The titanium with aesthetic appearance “TranTixxii” is a cutting-edge material that combines
the material properties of titanium, such as ultra-long life, light weight, high strength, and excellent
environmental performance, with our company's proprietary technology to control the material surface, and
to bring out its color aesthetics and color tone aesthetics. In addition to its properties that it has
strong corrosion resistance and the metal base does not corrode, the color aesthetics of interference
colors is not affected by ultraviolet rays, making it possible to maintain a semi-permanent beauty, and
our company's proprietary technology that minimizes changes over time achieves a "beauty that
transcends time" that does not change for many years. It helps reduce the maintenance burden on the
next generation and "transcends time" to contribute to the longevity of buildings and products
designed by architects and designers.
While the materials covered by this Service Life Warranty (standard type and flatness-oriented type: for
building materials with aesthetic appearance) have been highly evaluated for their aesthetic qualities and
long-term durability as materials that support the buildings created by architects and designers, there is
a growing need for a similar warranty since it is common for precursory competing metal materials
(high-grade aesthetic quality: copper, zinc alloy sheets, and others) to be covered by a service life
warranty. We believe that the launch of this Service Life Warranty will contribute to visualize the use
effects of the covered materials under long-term use, and that it will allow customers to recognize the
specific superiority of the titanium with aesthetic appearance “TranTixxii” from the
perspective of economic efficiency and reduced environmental burden.
In addition to the titanium with aesthetic appearance “TranTixxii”, the Nippon Steel Group
also has a wide range of products with aesthetic quality that contribute to the improvement of
architectural and product design, such as steel sheets with aesthetic appearance and stainless steel with
aesthetic appearance, which are offered to architects and designers under the name "Metal with
Aesthetic Quality." By expanding the sales of “Metal with Aesthetic Quality,” we will
promote the improvement of design and the realization of sustainability of architectures and products
around the world, thereby contributing to the enrichment of urban development and living
environments.
(*1) The warranty applies only to perforation caused by corrosion (cases where
perforation that penetrates materials attributable to their properties and corrosion occurs in normal
external environments). The fulfillment of the warranty is subject to various other conditions set forth
separately. The warranty is not necessarily provided to, or fulfilled for all titanium with aesthetic
appearance “TranTixxii” materials. The Service Life Warranty applies only to titanium with
aesthetic appearance “TranTixxii” specified under the warranty agreements executed between
Nippon Steel and trading companies designated by Nippon Steel (hereinafter called the “Materials
Covered by Warranty"; the “Warranty Agreements”; the "Designated Trading
Companies", respectively). Only the Materials Covered by Warranty that meet the various requirements
stipulated in the Warranty Agreements are actually subject to the warranty fulfillment described
herein.
(*2) Warranties provided by Nippon Steel are provided to the Designated Trading
Companies based on the Warranty Agreements with the Designated Trading Companies. They are not provided
directly to end users.
(*3) This press release provides an overview of the warranty service offered by Nippon
Steel in relation to titanium with aesthetic appearance “TranTixxii.” The specific terms and
conditions of the warranty will be stipulated in the Warranty Agreements. The warranty service will be
provided by Nippon Steel to the Designated Trading Companies as per the Warranty Agreements. No warranty
is provided under this press release.

Perforation caused by corrosion (cases where perforation that penetrates materials attributable to their
properties and corrosion occurs in normal external environments)

others.)

Bearing of extra prices related to the Warranty Agreements, and others. (via the Designated Trading
Companies)
(5) Extension terms and conditions (typical example):
Based on an extension request submitted by the Designated Trading Companies during the designated period
in the last fiscal year of the warranty, Nippon Steel will decide whether to grant the extension.
