Nippon Steel Corporation
In April 2020, Nippon Steel Corporation ("Nippon Steel") started supplying the world's largest rolled H-shapes MEGA NSHYPER BEAMTM, with web depth of up to 1200 mm and flange width of up to 500 mm. Since then, this product has been used mainly in large structures such as large-scale logistic facilities, factories, and high-rise buildings. Recently, Nippon Steel has made new additional sizes available: a web depth of 800 to 1050 mm and a flange width of 450 to 500 mm. This has expanded the number of MEGA NSHYPER BEAMTM products from 18 series to 30 series, completing the full product lineup.
With the expanded series of MEGA NSHYPER BEAMTM products, Nippon Steel can respond to the fullest to the following needs: larger cross-sectional areas of steel beams for larger buildings and further shorter construction periods required due to worsening labor shortages. In addition, more of the series of products are expected to be used for facilities such as large-scale distribution warehouses and data centers, which are increasingly in demand, because these products will enable the design of structures supporting heavy loads without changing the lengths and depths of beams. MEGA NSHYPER BEAMTM, including the additional series, has already acquired certification from the EcoLeaf environmental label program, which is provided under the Japan EPD Program, a certification program operated by the Sustainable Management Promotion Organization (SuMPO).
Nippon Steel will always pursue world-leading technologies and manufacturing capabilities, and continue to contribute to society through activities that also match the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the United Nations (“Sustainable Cities and Communities”).
