Mar. 26, 2020
Nippon Steel Corporation
In light of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s request on March 25, 2020 for its residents to stay home voluntarily, Nippon Steel Corporation will take measures to have its employees at the head office work at home.
1. Affected employees and their work style
Up to April 12, 2020, all employees (approximately 2,500) who work at the head office will in principle work at home. Certain employees who need to work at the office because of business continuity reasons will come to the office at the specified time and date instructed by their superior. In such a case, they will conform to the company’s infection preventive measures, such as by avoiding coming to or leaving the office during rush hours.
2. Various measures
(1) Meetings
Face-to-face meetings in the office are to be prohibited and meetings are to be conducted by using ICT tools, including web meetings, if needed.
(2) Business trips
Domestic and overseas business trips, in principle, will be postponed.
Based on the policies of the government and municipalities and the company’s action guidelines, we will continue to prioritize safety of our customers and employees, do as much as we can to prevent the spread of the infection, and sustain appropriate business operations. We ask for understanding of our customers and other stakeholders.
