Today, some media reported that Kure Works of Nippon Steel Nisshin Co., Ltd., a consolidated subsidiary of Nippon Steel Corporation, will stop operation of its blast furnace. However, this is not based on our official announcement.
We have been working on strengthening the competitiveness of our steelmaking business and will announce measures whenever they have been finalized and determined. What was reported by the media at this time is not what we have decided.
