Establishment of PT. NIPPON STEEL AND SUMITOMO METAL INDONESIA
Indonesia is the largest country in terms of economy and population in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Its economy is also running stable with the five to six percent annual GDP growth rate in recent years. We believe that steel demand in Indonesia is also expected to keep growing in the industries such as automobiles, motorcycles and also in the infrastructure and energy sectors.
On those backgrounds mentioned above, the Jakarta Representative Office of NIPPON STEEL & SUMITOMO METAL Southeast Asia Pte. Ltd. (HQ: Singapore) will be replaced by a newly established wholly-owned subsidiary of Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation, PT. NIPPON STEEL AND SUMITOMO METAL INDONESIA. We aim to strengthen its function in collecting information, supporting steel sales and technology services, and also supporting the business activities of our group companies in Indonesia such as PT KRAKATAU NIPPON STEEL SUMIKIN (KNSS).
