NSSMC’s Ultra High Strength OCTG Named SM2535-140TM
Receives “MP’s 2014 Corrosion Innovation Award of the Year”
from National Association of Corrosion Engineers

Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation has received the MP’s 2014 Corrosion Innovation Award of the Year from Materials Performance (MP), the magazine published by NACE (the National Association of Corrosion Engineers) International, for its ultra high strength seamless oil country tubular goods (OCTG), SM2535-140TM.

NACE awards are given to revolutionary solutions which make a great advance of current technology, by making developments in corrosion prevention and mitigation. One of NSSMC’s high-end products, which contributes to energy development, was recognized by this award.

The award ceremony was held at the Grand Opening of the NACE2014 in San Antonio, Texas, U.S.A., on March 10, 2014. The trophy was presented by Mr. Tushar Jhaveri, President of NACE International.

NSSMC’s OCTG, SM2535-140TM, can be used in a harsh natural gas exploration environment. By achieving the world’s highest strength - 140ksi grade - this product enables extremely deep gas well development, which used to be thought of as impossible. Through this product, NSSMC is contributing to production and stable supply of natural gas worldwide
