Power Failure at Nagoya Works (Third Report)

At around 9:10 a.m., Monday, January 20, on the premises of our Nagoya Works, a power failure occurred in some processes, causing smoking from the coke ovens, which however ended soon at around 11:15 a.m. The power failure recovered at around 10:10 a.m. of the same date.

For resumption of production, after power stability has been secured  through load dispersion of those electric systems which caused the power failure on the 20th, individual units of equipment and facilities are now being inspected and started up, one by one.

We deeply regret that within a short period of time, power failures occurred successively and have caused much inconvenience and concern to the neighborhood residents and other related parties.

We intend to take measures to ensure that the product supply to our customers would not be affected.

To prevent a recurrence of such troubles, we will investigate  the cause  and implement measures thoroughly.
