Sumitomo Metals Conducts Disaster Drill

November 17, 2011

  • Sumitomo Metal Industries, Ltd.

Today, the Tokyo Head Office of Sumitomo Metal Industries, Ltd. (Sumitomo Metals) conducted disaster drill. We changed the drill programs by applying what we learned from our experience of the Great East Japan Earthquake. This year’s drill was conducted based on the premise that the Tokyo metropolitan area and Wakayama Prefecture had been hit by a major earthquake, with a seismic intensity level of a little below 6 on the seven- point Japanese scale. In Tokyo, the Great East Japan Earthquake was a little above 5 on the scale.

Sumitomo Metals aims to be well prepared to promptly resume and continue business in the case of a large-scale disaster and become a company trusted by our customers and other stakeholders.
