Sumitomo Metal Industries, Ltd. (Sumitomo Metals) introduces summertime working hours at its head offices in Tokyo and Osaka from June 1, 2011, as a way to limit electricity consumption.

| : | Company-wide meetings that are scheduled to end after 16:30 are as a rule suspended. | |
| : | Head office buildings are closed at 20:00 and overtime work after 20:00 as a rule is prohibited. | |
| : | A flexible time system is available for employees who need special consideration due to childcare or elderly care requirements. | |
