Sumitomo Metal Industries, Ltd. has announced planned changes to the Board of Directors and executive officers.

1. Changes to Board of Directors
To be appointed, pending approval at the General Shareholders Meeting in June:

　　Yoshitaka Hotta, Managing Executive Officer, to Director

　To retire on March 31st :

　　Yoshinari Ishizuka, Director

2. Changes in executive officers
To be appointed on April 1st :

　　Yutaka Akahane, Assistant General Manager of Wakayama Steel Works in the Pipe & Tube Company

　　Kenji Takahashi, General Manager of Corporate Planning Department

　　Kengo Shimizu, General Manager of Steel Plate Sales Department in the Steel Sheet, Plate & Structural Steel Company

　　Ritsuya Iwai, Assistant General Manager of Wakayama Steel Works in the Pipe & Tube Company

　To retire on March 31st:
