Sumitomo Metal Industries, Ltd. (Sumitomo Metals) passed a resolution at a meeting of the Board of Directors held today. The resolution states that Tsutomu Ando, currently Representative Director, will become a director on April 1, 2009.
As previously notified, Tsutomu Ando is to retire from the position of director on the date of the General Shareholders Meeting to be held in June 2009.
