Resumption of Delivery of Galvanized Steel Pipes

Dear customers,


Nippon Steel Corporation confirms that the delivery of galvanized steel pipes, which had been suspended as previously announced pursuant to our release dated September 15, 2010, has resumed since late September, 2010.

We have since taken measures to ensure stable manufacturing conditions and revised our inspection system, which resulted in the resumption of the deliveries.

It is our belief that the subject products referred to below can continue to be used under normal usage conditions. Our customers in Japan are asked to contact us at the numbers given below should leaking or any other problem occur in the straight-pipe section of the subject products.
We will continue to make concerted efforts to prevent the recurrence of this situation in the future.

Subject products in the Japanese market:
The following pipes ranging in size from 15A to 100A, galvanized at the Continuous Bud Welding Pipe Mill of Kimitsu Works in or prior to August 2010:

Unplasticized polyvinyl chloride lined steel pipes for water piping (SGP-VB)
Galvanized steel pipes for ordinary water piping (SGPW)
