President of the Republic of Uganda Inspected Kimitsu Works

On June 3, President Museveni of the Republic of Uganda, visiting Japan for the Fifth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD V), inspected our Kimitsu Works. With re-rolling mills in Uganda being supplied with our steel products, the President had indicated his wish to see the most advanced iron and  steel manufacture.

He was welcomed and guided by Mr. Higuchi, Representative Director & Executive Vice President, on a factory tour of the blast-furnace plant and hot strip mill as well as other facilities, and explained our technological preeminence. He showed high interest in our capabilities in iron and steel manufacture.
