Koyasan, Nara Prefecture
Completed in 2013
The black color titanium of Nippon Steel was adopted for the first time for the roofing material for use in the roof of the Daishido Hall of Soji-in Temple.
Such properties peculiar to titanium as weather resistance, not drying out moss or to killing garden trees and designability to fit in with the magnificent sacred spot without causing a feeling of awkwardness are highly appreciated by the client.
Nippon Steel’s TranTixxii is contributing to the preservation of Japanese tradition and culture at Honchuindani, the center of the foundation of Koyasan, a world cultural heritage.
