<Overview>
The oldest type of cellular structure, closed circular cells create a highly stable, self-contained system suitable for cofferdams, dolphins, and offshore artificials islands.

<Typical Applications>
・Cofferdams
・Dolphins/Mooring Structure
・Bridge Piers/ Caisson Foundations
・Offshore Islands

<Overview>
Formed by a series of elongared(oval) cells, diaphragm cells allow for greater wall heights and higher efficiency on long walls compered to circular cells, but are best suited for layouts without curves or angles.

<Typical Applications>
・Straight Berths
・Straight Cofferdams
・Straight Causeways

<Overview>
This newest open-ended cellular system modifies the traditional closed cellular system to:
・Reduce steel
・Enable faster, simpler installation.
・Facillitate easier backfilling
・Adapt to more complex layouts.

<Typical Applications>
・Berths
・Cofferdams
・Causeways
・Bdidge Abutments
・Near-shore Islands

ADVANTAGES OF NIPPON STEELʼS Straight web-type sheet piles

Interlock Strength

High interlock strength for greater wall heights and load capacity. Ideal for deep berths, deep cofferdams, and heavy-duty docks.

Type Tensile Strength
(MN/m)
NS-SP-FL 3.92
NS-SP-FXL 5.88

※The above values are catalog (ultimate) values.
Design values shall be determined in accordance with applicable standards (service/allowable limits).

Swing Angle

Large swing angle for tighter diameters and smaller footprints. Ideal for dolphins, bridge piers, and walls in confined spaces.(e.g., urban areas)

Supply capacity for long sheet pile

NS-SP Straight web-type sheet piles available in lengths over 30 meters.
