With outstanding advantages in saving material costs and reducing construction time, Hat type steel sheet piles have been selected for use in the waterproofing wall in this project.

On May 8, Nippon Steel Vietnam Co., Ltd organized a construction tour of Hat type sheet pile, which is the largest sheet pile in the world, for the first application in Vietnam.

This project was built in Tinh An and Nghia Dung communes, Quang Ngai Province, invested by Project Management Board of construction and transportation of Quang Ngai Province.

In this project, Hat-type steel sheet pile is NS-SP-10H; 14m length (images)

-Direction of pilling are the same
-High structural reliability
No reduction required in sectional properties to consider the possible luck of shear force transmission at interlocks, which is required for Larsen 4 or U type steel pile wall

Before visiting construction site, consulting company and pile rental companies are introduced about the overview of Tra Khuc and characteristics of Hat type sheet pile.



When visiting construction site, the visitors were able to see with their own eyes pilling process of 2 sheet piles with the total construction time of 2 piles about 5 minutes.







After visiting the construction site, there were exchanged opinions and questions about the construction and design of Hat typed.

Some common feelings of the visitors about Hat typed steel sheet piles such as: fast construction, using waterproof wall by Hat type steel sheet piles not only save time but also save materials. Besides some questions about construction, there are also a number of questions related to the reliability of product. Almost of visitors recognize the advantages of Hat typed steel sheet piles and it is necessary to develop widespread use of this Hat typed in the future in Vietnam.

This construction site visiting tour took place successfully with the meaning of witnessing the actual construction of the first Hat-typed steel sheet pile in Vietnam and brought opportunity to exchange useful ideas for all parties.
