With manufacturing bases in Japan and 15 countries or more worldwide, Nippon Steel Corporation is Japan’s largest steelmaker and one of the world’s leading steel producers. Our group—the Nippon Steel Group—does business in four areas, starting with our core segment of Steelmaking and Steel Fabrication and including Engineering and Construction, Chemicals and Materials, and System Solutions. We undertake these businesses based on four pillars laid out in our Medium- to Long-term Management Plan: 1) rebuilding our domestic steel business and strengthening our group’s management, 2) promoting a global strategy to deepen and expand our overseas business, 3) taking on the challenge of carbon neutrality and, 4) promoting digital transformation strategies. Plate & Construction Products	Through the delivery of high-performance steels such as plates, H-beams, sheet piles, pipe piles, and rails, Nippon Steel contributes to the building and development of a wide range of infrastructure in such fields as ships; energy, e.g., wind power; construction; and railways, thereby securing the foundation of people’s lives.
Flat Products	Nippon Steel supports various industries and people’s lives by delivering steel sheet used to make automobiles, electrical appliances, housing, beverage cans, transformers, and other goods. Having production and processing bases worldwide, this unit provides high quality, high-performance products and services in Japan and overseas.
Bars & Wire Rods	Nippon Steel delivers high-quality high-performance bars and rods to a wide range of industries including the automotive, construction, and industrial machinery industries. In the automotive business, this unit focuses on high end products used in important automotive components such as engines, drive trains, and suspensions.
Pipes & Tubes	Nippon Steel is a world-leader in the high-end seamless pipes usedin oil and gas development and for fossil fuels in coal fired power generation, as well as for carbon capture and storage (CCS),geothermal and biomass power generation, hydrogen stations, and other purposes. We also provide high-quality, high-performance products and services to the automotive,construction, industrial machinery and other industries.
Railway, Automotive & Machinery Parts	Nippon Steel is the only manufacturer of railway steel wheels and axles in Japan. This unit's major products are railway rolling stock components and forged crankshafts for automobiles. The unit has two manufacturing bases for railway wheels and axles, and four bases for crankshafts in the world.
Titanium	In addition to titanium’s lighter, high-strength, and extremely corrosion-resistant properties, Nippon Steel is utilizing the technologies accumulated in its long history of steelmaking to be a world-leader in titanium products for industrial machinery/plants, building materials, automobiles, and aerospace.
Stainless Steel	Nippon Steel Stainless Steel Corporation provides steel customers with a wide range of high-quality stainless steel products that includes steel plates, sheets, bars, and wire rods by leveraging its most advanced technologies in the world. This subsidiary has developed the world’s first Sn-added low-interstitial ferritic steel grades, named the “FW (forward) series,” and a new type of duplex stainless steel.
